Coronavirus

PTCC continues to work closely with the Minnesota State System Office and the Minnesota Department of Health to monitor the impact of COVID-19 and take steps necessary to protect the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff as well as campus visitors. Please submit your questions to covid19@pine.edu.

Minnesota State has developed a dashboard for reporting the COVID-19 case data that is impacting the colleges, universities, and the system office. The dashboard is updated weekly and serves as a tool to inform campus communities about changes in COVID-19 cases and community spread and aid campus leadership decision making. View the Minnesota State COVID-19 Dashboard here.

Our overall goals:

1. Keep faculty, staff and students safe and healthy in an appropriate learning environment that promotes student success.

2. Keep our campus facility open throughout fall semester by following recommended state and federal safety guidelines

Flexible Course Offerings

We have chosen to offer on-campus classes this fall because we believe that, for some, this is the best learning environment for success. Many faculty will be offering high flex courses so students may choose to attend classes either virtually or on-site.

For those attending classes on campus, we have instituted processes to keep you, our faculty, and our staff safe. These include:

Student Support Services

We will offer on-campus student support services this fall as we believe that, for some, they prefer this method of support.  All services will also be available virtually including counseling, financial aid, advising, tutoring, and other supports. You can make this choice when you set up an appointment.

We are in this together!

With increased use of our building it is more likely that we will have COVID-19 enter our spaces, despite our best attempts to keep our campus a safe place.  We will continuously monitor the campus climate, and communicate with you should a positive case occur.  To minimize or prevent this from happening, however, we must all do our best to adhere to safety guidelines so that we can keep our campus open the entire semester. See you this fall!

Minnesota State Specific Guidance and Information

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have provided this Fact Sheet on COVID-19:

The CDC has provided this Fact Sheet outlining steps to help prevent the disease from spreading to people:
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/sick-with-2019-nCoV-fact-sheet.pdf

We encourage students, faculty and staff to practice respiratory (coughing and sneezing) etiquette and hand hygiene. Those who feel sick are recommended to stay home until they are free of fever, signs of a fever, and any other symptoms for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing or other symptom-altering medicines (e.g. cough suppressants). Employees should notify their supervisor and stay home if they are sick and seek medical attention depending on the severity of their symptoms.
