We are all in this together!

PTCC continues to work closely with the Minnesota State System Office and the Minnesota Department of Health to monitor the impact of COVID-19 and take steps necessary to protect the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff as well as campus visitors. Please submit your questions to

  • PTCC is open and safely serving students, with instruction and services delivered primarily in-person
  • Our goal as a campus is to keep students, staff and faculty safe and healthy while following state and federal guidelines to keep our campus and facility open
  • Minnesota State has developed a dashboard for reporting the COVID-19 case data that is impacting the colleges, universities, and the system office. The dashboard is updated weekly and serves as a tool to inform campus communities about changes in COVID-19 cases and community spread and aid campus leadership decision making.
  • Since the beginning of the pandemic, PTCC has made local operational decisions by aligning with the regional data.

Face Coverings

With guidance from the CDC, face coverings are no longer required on campus; however, you may choose to wear one if you wish.

Minnesota State is following the guidance from the State of Minnesota and Minnesota Department of Health on vaccinations of our students and employees. All state workers, including all PTCC employees, must either be fully vaccinated or be tested for COVID every week beginning September 8. We are working to establish processes for handling this requirement at PTCC, and are in communication with the system office to ensure that all processes follow MDH, State, and MinnState guidelines. These processes include employees providing proof of vaccination and signing an attestation form (see for the COVID-19 Proof of Vaccination and testing policy #1446). We are working to make our local process as simple as can be, and hope to have an electronic solution in place, as well as drop-in times for employees who prefer to meet with HR in person. We are working to provide COVID testing on campus for those who have medical or other reasons for not getting the vaccine. This testing will be available is such a way that all work shifts will be able to take advantage of the testing during work hours. More details to follow soon. In the meantime, employees are able to find additional information on available vaccines at While students are not currently required to be vaccinated (with exceptions in some programs, including some healthcare programs), we are strongly encouraging all students to get vaccinated as soon as possible. The most effective way we can reduce the spread of COVID-19 and avoid further restrictions as we move forward is to get vaccinated as soon as possible, if you’re not already. For more information on this and how to find a vaccine location, please visit

Student Extracurricular Activities

At this time, PTCC has no extracurricular activities that are subject to the proof of vaccination and testing requirements.

Social Distancing

While 3-6 feet of social distancing is no longer required, it remains strongly recommended. We are encouraging all students, employees, and guests to continue to practice social distancing to the extent possible. We further recommend washing your hands often, using the cleaning materials available throughout campus, and staying home if you’re not feeling well.
